~yailem. ~yTib'W   Is ~yTib' a masculine pl. noun or a 1 c. sg. Qal affix + suffix? Context can answer that. alem' is a stative or “A” class verb (17.7). A characteristic of statives is that adjectives can be formed from the 3 m. sg. Qal affix. The phrase ~yailem. ~yTib'W  looks as if it could be a noun sentence or a noun and an attributive adjective. You have to go further into the verse to see which works out better.

Deuteronomy 6:12

הִשָּׁמֶר

שׁמר: keep, watch, preserve
verb, niphal, imperative, masculine, singular

This is a Niphal imperative. It is believed that in the early stages of the language the preformative of the Nifal was nhi  This syllable is still seen in the imperative and infinitive forms but with the n assimilated. That is why there is a dagesh forte (footprint dagesh) in the first root letter of these two forms. Although many Hifil forms have a h preformative they do not have a dagesh forte in their first root letter. The other distinctive characteristic of some Nifal forms is their vowel pattern (See rmea'yE Gen.22:14).
